The DuPont BBQ Cookoff is a three-day community celebration featuring championship barbecue, live entertainment, family activities, a beer garden, and our popular Vendor Marketplace.

Hosted by American Legion Pat Tillman Memorial Post 53, proceeds help support veterans, youth programs, and community projects throughout the year.

🍖 BBQ Samples

Imagine strolling through Clocktower Park with the mouthwatering aroma of slow-smoked barbecue filling the air. Some of the finest competition Pitmasters in the Pacific Northwest will be firing up their smokers, and you get to sample their creations!

From tender, smoky meats to award-worthy flavors, it’s your chance to taste championship barbecue prepared by the teams competing for top honors.

When Can You Sample?

Saturday, August 28: Noon – 4:00 PM
Sunday, August 29: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM

How Do BBQ Bucks Work?

It’s easy! Just stop by the clearly marked American Legion tent and pick up your BBQ Bucks for $3 each.

Most samples cost just 1 or 2 BBQ Bucks, depending on the portion and what the Pitmaster is serving.

Then follow your nose, explore the competition area, meet the Pitmasters, and discover your new favorite barbecue!

Come early, bring your appetite, and enjoy the flavors while supplies last!

🎵 Live Entertainment

What’s better than championship barbecue, great friends, and a beautiful summer weekend? Add some fantastic live music, and you’ve got the perfect combination!

The DuPont BBQ Cookoff brings talented musicians and entertainers together for a weekend filled with great food, toe-tapping music, and good old-fashioned fun.

Whether you’re enjoying a plate of smoky barbecue, exploring the Vendor Marketplace, or relaxing with a refreshing beverage, the music provides the perfect soundtrack to your weekend.

Friday, August 27: Live entertainment during our BBQ Kickoff Banquet.

Sunday, August 29: Live entertainment from Noon to 4:00 PM.

The DuPont BBQ Cookoff isn’t just about great barbecue. It’s a weekend of family fun, laughter, and making memories together!

While the grown-ups enjoy championship barbecue, live music, and browsing the Vendor Marketplace, younger visitors can look forward to plenty of excitement of their own.

We’re planning another fantastic lineup of family-friendly attractions, including:

Giant inflatable slides and games
Face painting and henna tattoos
Fun activities for children of all ages
Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the festivities

Whether you’re bringing the grandchildren for an afternoon or spending the entire weekend with us, there’s something for everyone at Clocktower Park.

🍺 Beer Garden

After sampling championship barbecue, exploring the Vendor Marketplace, and enjoying the festivities, why not take a little time to relax?

Our Beer Garden offers a welcoming spot to gather with friends, enjoy a refreshing beverage, listen to live music, and soak up the atmosphere of the DuPont BBQ Cookoff.

We’re grateful to Happy Camper Cocktail Company, whose support has helped make the Beer Garden a favorite gathering place at our event.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds from the Beer Garden helps support the American Legion’s veterans and youth programs.

Good friends, great barbecue, refreshing beverages, and live entertainment. That’s what summer weekends are all about!

Alcoholic beverages are available only to guests age 21 and older with valid identification. Please enjoy responsibly.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the 10th Annual DuPont BBQ Cookoff at beautiful Clocktower Park, conveniently located just minutes from Interstate 5.

Whether you’re traveling from nearby communities or making the trip from farther away, DuPont is an easy destination for a weekend of championship barbecue, live entertainment, shopping, and family fun.

Parking Information

Parking areas within walking distance of the event have traditionally included Chloe Clark Elementary School on Palisade Boulevard and the Park and Ride on Wilmington Drive.

We’re coordinating parking and transportation arrangements for 2027. Updated information, including any available shuttle service, will be posted here as plans are confirmed.

We encourage visitors to arrive early, especially on Saturday, and follow event signs and volunteer directions.
